BK expands 99-cent menu

Published on .

Burger King Corp., Miami, is making its Chick'n Crisp sandwich a permanent part of the Great Tastes Menu launched in March. The menu features eight items for 99 cents or less. James Watkins, senior VP-North American marketing, said the 99-cent choices are not eating into sales of the chain's combination meals and termed the new menu a success. The sandwich is being supported with two new TV spots from Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York, slated to run through next month. Separately, Burger King said it has launched a four-item breakfast menu across the U.K. in a competitive move against rival McDonald's Corp.
