BK North American prez resigns

Published on .

Paul Clayton resigned today as president of North America at Burger King Corp., Miami, to become CEO of smoothie marketer Jamba Juice Co. Burger King CEO Dennis Malamatinas will handle the division until Mr. Clayton's successor is named. The fast-food marketer's management team has been under pressure of late due to lackluster sales from its restaurants as well as from a class-action suit resulting from a death and an injury caused by Pokemon toy balls Burger King offered as a premium. The 25 million toys were recalled last month.
