Blocking ads on the Web

PrivNet, Chapel Hill, N.C., is test marketing a software program, Internet Fast Forward, that blocks advertising from appearing on World Wide Web pages. The firm, which is run by five students, released a free test version of the software and in the future plans to charge $10 to $15 a year.
