Coinciding with the singer's much ballyhooed return to the concert circuit, Bloomingdale's last month opened boutiques in 12 of its stores offering a wide range of Barbra Streisand merchandise.
An exclusive line of official concert merchandise-including apparel, accessories, jewelry, collectibles and Ms. Streisand's re-cordings and videos-is racking up "incredible" sales in what has become one of Bloomingdale's most successful boutiques ever, said Tracy LaBrecque, publicity spokeswoman for the retailer.
The hottest-selling items include the $25 Barbra Streisand official concert T-shirt and $25 baseball cap, and the $60 men's silk tie featuring a collage of photos from the star's career, Ms. LaBrecque said.
The merchandise was developed by Sony Signatures, the licensing division of Ms. Streisand's recording company, Sony Corp. Sony is co-sponsoring a related sweepstakes handled in-house by Bloomingdale's. Customers at any of the 12 participating stores can register to win a grand prize of an expenses-paid trip to New York and two $125 tickets to one of Ms. Streisand's final concerts at Madison Square Garden.
