The look is L.A., but the buildings are really Tokyo (with a palm tree trucked in) in a new Tropicana spot running in Japan. All text in the commercial, as well as the voice-over, are in English. Dentsu, Tokyo, created the ad for the joint venture of Tropicana Products and Kirin Beverage Co. that markets the juices in Japan. In the spot, two billboards come to life, the juice is drained from the glass in the Tropicana ad by an unseen thirsty entity, and later a pedestrian finds a lipstick -- from the neighboring beauty board? -- on
