Boland departs as president of FCB's San Francisco office

Published on .

Jack Boland, president of Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco, parted with the agency today, two months after FCB moved Geoff Thompson into a post above Mr. Boland as chairman-CEO and chief creative officer in San Francisco. Mr. Boland, a 20-year FCB veteran, had run the office since earlier this decade, landing such accounts as 3Com Corp. and Amazon.com while also being at the helm when the agency lost its signature jeans account, Levi Strauss & Co., to TBWA/Chiat/Day.
