BOZELL WORLDWIDE: MERGER STILL ON THE MINDS OF MANY

Published on .

Agency Rating: **

After a year of controversy, conjecture and lawsuits, True North Communications acquired Bozell parent Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt in an all-stock transaction estimated at $500 million.

The agency lost creative on its $200 million Taco Bell account; then, field marketing, national and local media assignments also ran for the border.

Other losses include Kraft Foods, Valvoline and Renaissance Hotels. However, the agency landed the $60 million to $70 million Bausch & Lomb global vision care business, Ray-Ban, Borden Foods' Classico pasta sauce, Ace Hardware and Great Western Bank.

LOOKING AHEAD

The industry is still watching and waiting for all the pieces to fall into place following the BJK&E/TN merger.

Expect the agency to set its sights on a financial services client following the loss of its $70 million Merrill Lynch account earlier this year.
