(Aug. 22, 2001) -- Havas Advertising's Brann Worldwide acquired Asian direct-marketing agency Wong Wong Boyack, San Francisco.

The shop, renamed Brann Wong Wong, will now share an office with Brann San Francisco and will continue to be led by brother-sister partners Chairman-CFO Ben Wong and President-CEO Penelope Wong.

The 10-person agency brings bilingual direct-marketing capabilities to Wilton, Conn.-based Brann, which will use Wong Wong to service clients in any of its 17 offices in North America and Europe. Brann Wong Wong will continue to work with its own customers, including American Savings Bank, Cisco Systems and Sina.com, a Chinese-language community Web site.

In addition, Ms. Wong, 48, assumes the role of executive vice president and director of strategic business and brand development for Brann San Francisco, and Mr. Wong, 50, becomes executive vice president and director of strategic planning and insight for that office. -- Cara Beardi
