Brazil's Kaiser beer appoints new marketing director

SAO PAULO--Brazilian brewery Kaiser has ended a four-monthlong search for a new marketing director with the appointment of Roberto Dranger, formerly at DM9DDB's political marketing subsidiary DM9-99.

Mr. Dranger's appointment comes at a critical time for Kaiser faced with tough competition after the recent merger between Brahma and Antarctica, which represents a whopping 80% of the beer market.

Kaiser's former marketing head, Cristiano Ramos de Souza, left the company in April.

Mr. Dranger's marketing experience includes stints at Kibon ice-cream company and chocolate manufacturer Lacta.

Kaiser is owned by Coca Cola Co. (10%), and Coca-Cola bottlers and Heineken.
