Brazilian editor quits to join StarMedia

SAO PAULO--Pyr Marcondes is leaving the editorial director of all Meio & Mensagem's publications, Advertising Age's licensee in Brazil, to join StarMedia Network, the Portuguese and Spanish-language Internet Portal as managing director. He starts the new position on Dec. 1. Mr. Marcondes succeeds Indio Brasileiro Guerra, who earlier this year was promoted to business-to-business VP, based in New York. "The Internet is revolutionizing the communications segment and it's a very interesting professional opportunity for me," says Mr. Marcondes. Starting his career as a journalist, Mr. Marcondes went on to run his own agency in Sao Paulo where he was creative director.
