BREAKING: Bush campaign touts leadership, hope

Published on .

The first ads for George W. Bush reflecting the influence of the "Madison Avenue Posse" on the GOP presidential candidate's Maverick Media team take an uplifting tone. Three spots began running July 20 in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington state, and use leadership and hope as themes, saying Gov. Bush will "unite, not divide." The Bush campaign said actors used in the spot were not union members, in deference to the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television & Radio Artists' strike.
