BREAKING: Custom tunes

Published on .

Philips Consumer Electronics breaks two TV spots flagging star products during the Sydney Olympic Games. In "Dinner Date," the guy can spend his time impressing his date rather than fiddling with the music by creating his own compilations with Philips' CD Mini-System with integrated Audio CD-Recorder. The campaign by Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, is part of a $100 million effort and includes spots for Philips' Digital Widescreen TV, chic Somba 13-inch TV and Personal TV Recorder with TiVo service. Copywriter: Sean Looney. Art director: Greg Cerny.
