Breaking: Customer care goes extreme

Published on .

Online insurer eCoverage last week broke a consumer TV and print campaign in Chicago that will expand nationwide in July. ECoverage and its agency, Kowloon Wholesale Seafood Co., Santa Monica, Calif., would not disclose ad spending. Dick Sittig, president of Kowloon, last year said eCoverage's spending would be similar to that of Kowloon's other client, Jack in the Box, which spent $63.5 million last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting. TV commercials try to humorously show eCoverage's emphasis on customer care. In one spot, a "coverage and claims guy," dripping wet and muddy from a rainstorm, barges into the fictitious office of an eCoverage executive. The "claims guy" says he's the one people really want when their power is out. Copywriter: Dick Sittig. Art director: Michael Gaw.
