Infoseek's first foray into TV advertising broke last night as a series of humorous cliff-hanger commercials from new agency of record Ingalls Moranville, San Francisco. The $3 million campaign, running in New York and San Francisco markets, tries to build intrigue about Infoseek's new Web channels service. It includes trade print, outdoor and TV executions by Ingalls and an online campaign from Left Field, San Francisco. The TV commercials, which befittingly broke during the Nov. 2 season premier of the "The X-Files," show two mobsters interrogating a hapless Infoseek user.
