Breaking: Serious money

Published on .

SSB Citi Asset Management Group gives portfolio managers the star treatment in its first ad campaign for Citigroup's Smith Barney Mutual Funds family. The page ads feature b&w portraits of Smith Barney fund managers with headlines such as "Meet John Goode. Last year, he was John exceptionally Goode" and "Jeff Russell doesn't rule the world. His investors, however, might disagree." Ads from Hill, Holliday, New York, are tagged "Your serious money. Professionally managed." The campaign runs in newspapers including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and is expected to migrate to TV and radio later this year. Copywriter: Larry Goldstein. Art director: Wendy Ruffin.
