In a takeoff on Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," TV spots for Sprint Corp.'s local phone service division have animated words-such as "in-laws" and "pollsters"-swooping down on a family running for cover, backing up the theme that while the information age can be frenetic, Sprint can help. The estimated $5 million to $10 million ad campaign from J. Walter Thompson USA, San Francisco, broke last week in 19 states (AA, July 27).
