BREAKING; TEAR DROP: CLOAK & DAGGER IN GOLF WAR

Published on .

Spies tee off in TearDrop Golf Co.'s campaign introducing its new putter. The three b&w spots from the Brownstein Group, Philadelphia, break Aug. 28 on the Golf Channel. In a 30-second teaser, two men exchange a briefcase holding the putter, introducing the campaign's tagline, "Control the roll." In the 45-second follow-up, a spy putts a golf ball, in which microfilm is hidden, across a fence to a mystery woman. In the final :15, KGB-style agents search an apartment and come up with only the putter's cover as evidence.
