Bridgestone-Firestone, Nashville, halted a comparative advertising campaign June 28 in an out-of-court settlement with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio. In a U.S. district court suit June 3, Goodyear sought unspecified damages resulting from the allegedly false ads. Goodyear said the case was settled without cash or monetary compensation. Both companies declined to give settlement terms. Bridgestone just moved its $15 million account to Persuasion Group, Chicago, a TBWA
unit, from TBWA Chiat/Day, New York.
