Carlo Vittorini, chairman, publisher and CEO of Sunday magazine Parade, New York, will retire Feb. 28, his 71st birthday. Mr. Vittorini, who has been with Parade for 20 years, will be succeeded by Walter Andersen, currently exec VP-editor.

Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition is the latest dot-com to snap up a Super Bowl ad slot. Dow Jones & Co., New York, said WSJ Interactive will run a single :30 created by Arnold Communications, Boston.

Geico Direct Auto Insurance, Washington, is developing its first integrated Hispanic marketing effort. Geico named Lopez Negrete Communications, Houston, as its first Hispanic agency of record.

The U.S. Department of Justice gave tentative approval to New York-based Infinity Broadcasting Corp.'s $8.3 billion purchase of Outdoor Systems, Phoenix, after Infinity agreed to sell off outdoor display company assets in New Orleans, New York and Phoenix. Sales of specific assets are required. CBS Corp. owns 82% of Infinity.
