Bacardi USA, Miami, tapped Avrett, Free & Ginsberg, New York, for a global launch of a new Dewar's Scotch whisky blend. Avrett, which also handles Bacardi rums, bested several other agencies in the review.

Hoover Co., North Canton, Ohio, launches a campaign on May 1 in which the longstanding "Nobody does it like you" theme continues but with jazzy instrumental music. The advertising continues to use the "Deep down you want Hoover" tag. They are the first Hoover ads from FCB Worldwide, Chicago, since the $25 million account moved there in November from Euro RSCG Tatham.
