Intel Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., said it would allow its dealers in North America to use the "Intel Inside" logo in print ads and on company Web sites. The program, a first for Intel's dealers, also makes available $10 million in co-op funds for which retailers can apply. The "Intel Inside" program previously has been limited to manufacturers.

W. James McNerney Jr., 51, to chairman-CEO, 3M, St. Paul, Minn., from president-CEO, GE Aircraft Engines, Cincinnati. He succeeds L.D. DeSimone, who will retire next year. Mr. McNerney is a longtime General Electric Co. executive, and was seen as a candidate to succeed GE Chairman-CEO John F. Welch Jr. But that post went to Jeffrey R. Immelt last week (Ad Age, Dec. 4).

HTVN links with Mexican broadcaster: Hispanic Television Network, which has been aggressively trying to build a third Spanish-language TV network in the U.S., announced Dec. 5 a programming and equity partnership with Mexican broadcaster MVS Television. HTVN said the deal would give it access to Mexican production facilities and talent that would help assure original programming for the U.S. network. The Mexican network, meanwhile, said it hoped the deal would give it greater contact with U.S. advertisers.
