Brinegar rejoins Burnett USA as chief operating officer

Brad Brinegar has rejoined Leo Burnett USA as its chief operating officer, a previously vacant position. Mr. Brinegar, 45, most recently president-CEO of the now closed Chicago office of Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide, will report to CEO Linda Wolf and also serve on the agency's board of directors.

Mr. Brinegar first joined Burnett in 1979 and was senior VP-account director when he left Burnett in January 1998 to take the CEO post at what was then the Chicago office of Ammirati Puris Lintas. The Chicago office of Lowe Lintas closed after its primary client, Ameritech, was acquired by Southwestern Bell and Ameritech advertising was consolidated at Southwestern Bell's agency, GSD&M, Dallas.

In his new role at Burnett, Mr. Brinegar will be responsible for client service and will oversee subsidiaries, including the Lab: Unexpected Solutions, TFA/Leo Burnett Technology Group and Capps Digital.
