Yellow Pages, the directory of U.K. businesses owned by British Telecommunications plc, is to start selling ads on its Web site. The YELL site
, which lists 1.6 million U.K. businesses, gets more than one million page views per month, a performance the company claims makes it one of the U.K.'s top Web sites.
Starting in April, U.K. advertisers will be able to buy basic ads or build a complete Web site, including a map of a business' exact location. Those with existing Web sites can link from the directory.
