Published on .

The Big 4 broadcast networks are stumbling out of the blocks of the 1995-96 prime-time season. For the first three days of the new season--Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday--ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox averaged an 11.5 Nielsen rating, down 8.7% from the 12.6 rating they averaged for the first three days of the 1994-95 season. For the same period, basic cable's average rating was a 16.3, up 25.8% over the 13 rating it averaged for the first three days of last season.
