Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser will be the exclusive sponsor of the 1997 Copa America, the biennial South American soccer championship, slated for June 11 to 29 in Bolivia. The event will anchor Bud's 1997 Latin American marketing strategy and extend the beer's soccer involvement.

Pepsi-Cola Co. and Empire State Development, Albany, N.Y., join forces in a program linking Pepsi brands with the New York State Division of Tourism. A regional promotion themed "Winter's the coolest" teams with the state's "I love NY" tourism slogan for an on-pack, in-store and delivery truck campaign touting winter activities in the state; included are discount coupons for vacationing, skiing and snowmobiling. Local radio and TV spots back the effort. BBDO Worldwide, New York, is Pepsi's agency.
