SonicNet adds partners

SonicNet (www.sonicnet.com), which was recently relaunched, is expected to announce this week additional content partnerships, including a relationship to supply music news to search engine Excite and to BMG Music. It is also expected to finalize content distribution deals with the @Home Network and Media One.

Current content partners on SonicNet, which is owned by TCI Music, include Yahoo! Chat, America Online's The Hub and N2K's Music Boulevard.

Narrative opens ad-hosting unit

Narrative Communications Corp. (www.narrative.com) today unveils Enliven Services, which will package Enliven streaming software with ad hosting and reporting services. The service, available from Narrative and its resellers, will build, launch, track and manage online ad campaigns.

Excite co-sponsors interactive competition

Internet users will have a chance to vote in the Great Skate Debate, a figure skating competition that airs on CBS on March 27. In addition to participation from people attending the event, TV viewers will be encouraged to go to the Excite-sponsored site (skate.excite.com) to vote for their favorite skater.

@Home opens software store

Cable Internet service @Home Network and Release Software today open SoftwareNow (www.softwarenow.net), an online software store that will differentiate itself through its high-speed download capabilities.

SoftwareNow will let @Home subscribers preview, rent or buy software applications and games.

Free e-mail provider Juno Online Services appointed LCI International its exclusive provider of long-distance phone services in a five-year deal. . . .
