PeopleLink unveils partners

Personalized chat service PeopleLink (www.

peoplelink.com) announces several charter partners today. They include Internet service provider Concentric; Technology, Entertainment, Design conference hosted by Richard Saul Wurman; IdeaLab!, a venture firm that assists digital startups ; and Digital Equipment Corp.'s Alta Vista search engine.

PeopleLink launched its service in June, with AT&T Corp. as its initial advertiser and AT&T Ventures as a major investor.

Eagle River exits agency business

Eagle River Interactive (www.eriver.com) announced last week that it was in negotiations with Omnicom Group to sell its interactive agency division.

The company's shareholders decided to focus on its more profitable computer training business, run through the Mastering Computers training subsidiary that it acquired last year. Eagle River is also talking to an investor group about selling the assets of SkiView, its outdoor advertising subsidiary.

Eagle River said that the move shouldn't affect business because the agency will be sold as one unit, and it doesn't expect a staffing turnover. Last week Sprint Corp. consolidated its $20 million interactive account with Eagle River.

Wunderman Cato launches zine

Wunderman Cato Johnson, New York's interactive communications group today takes the wraps off Propheus (www.propheus.com), a monthly online publication about interactive marketing. Created by WCJ's interactive group, the zine will feature useful tools, articles, a question-and-answer forum, a directory of recommended sites and a listing of relevant industry events.
