Burkhardt & Hillman has been awarded the $2 million to $3 million advertising account for Philadelphia-based Capita Research. Capita is a high-tech consumer research company that tests consumer responses to advertising and entertainment using a technology that records brain-wave activity, similar to EEG. The patented technology was developed by NASA and the commercial rights were purchased by Capita to "read customers' minds." Don Reach, Capita's CEO, estimated first year billing between $2 million and $3 million. Ron Burkhardt, CEO and creative director at the agency, said the first stage of their work will be a business-to-business print and Internet campaign and later expanding to consumer publications and other media.
