Burnett opens N.Y. urban agency

Published on .

Leo Burnett Co. opened Vigilante, New York, a new "guerilla" advertising agency specializing in marketing to urban consumers. Marc Stephenson Strachan, former president of Middleman L.E., a consultancy that specialized in urban markets, is chief marketing and operations officer; Danny Robinson, former creative group head at advertising and marketing company Guild Group, Pleasantville, N.Y., is chief creative officer. The shop is talking to Burnett clients and will also look for business separately in the music, film, entertainment and athletic-apparel industries. It signed Schieffelin & Somerset's Johnnie Walker Black as its first client and is handling projects for Reebok International and TV program "Vibe."
