Bush, Gore teams ink deals with actors

Published on .

The striking Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television & Radio Artists announced that the media companies representing George Bush's and Al Gore's presidential campaigns signed "interim agreements" that allow them to use union actors and voice-over performers in TV commercials. These two pacts are among 300 agreements the unions said they have signed since commercial actors struck the ad industry May 1. The "interim" agreements give union members a 12% across the board increase until the strike has been resolved.
