Bush’s attempt at tax cut gets ad boost

Published on .

President elect George W. Bush's attempt to get a tax cut is getting some ad help from the Republican Leadership Council. Two TV ads aimed at Democratic members of the Senate Finance Committee were produced by GOP ad consultant Chris Mattola, Cherry Hill, N.J., and have been launched in Montana and North Dakota. "Montana supported George Bush for president. George Bush promised Montana families a tax cut," says one of the spots. "But some Washington politicians oppose the Bush tax cuts. Now Senator [Max] Baucus has a choice: Support the Bush tax cuts for Montana families or oppose them." The group said it will spend $75,000 in its initial two-week buy.
