BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- Cadbury Schweppes has canceled its Dr Pepper/Seven Up bottler meeting in Washington, D.C., which had been scheduled for Oct. 1-6.

The event would have previewed advertising and unveiled marketing plans for 2002. About 1,600 people, mostly from this country, had been scheduled to attend.

The company said the event would be rescheduled, though a new date has not been determined, because executives did not want to make people uncomfortable flying in light of the terrorist attacks Sept. 11 in Washington and New York.
