Calif. narrows antismoking review to 5

The Tobacco Control Section of the California Department of Health Services narrowed the review for its antismoking account to five agencies: Dailey & Associates, Los Angeles; Deutsch, Playa del Rey; DGWB, Irvine; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco; and Ground Zero, Marina del Rey. The five agencies were selected after meetings at more than 20 California shops. Incumbent was Asher & Partners, Los Angeles. The next phase of the contest for the state's $25 million, five-year account involves a work assignment due July 20.
