Callaway wins round in Spalding suit

Published on .

Callaway Golf Corp., Carlsbad, Calif., said it will proceed with a trademark infringement suit against Spalding Sports Worldwide following the dismissal in U.S. District Court, Santa Ana, Calif., of a countersuit filed by Spalding against Callaway. Callway contends packaging for Spalding's "System C" golf ball improperly pictured Calloway products and trademarks and that Spalding ads made misleading performance superiority claims.
