NEW YORK-Gabriella Forte has been named the new president at Calvin Klein Inc.
Ms. Forte, who takes the post effective in September, moves from exec VP at Giorgio Armani Corp., Milan.
She succeeds Mr. Klein as president. Barry Schwartz remains chairman-CEO.
The move touched off speculation that Mr. Klein may seek to go public though the designer said that is not the plan.
Mr. Klein also acknowledged he is talking with Fruit of the Loom about acquiring his CK Jeans division.
