CAMPARI INCREASES STAKE IN SKYY

Italian Distiller Owns Majority Share in Vodka Maker

By Published on .

BOSTON (AdAge.com) -- Skyy Spirits LLC has sold another 50% share to Campari Group, giving the Italian distiller 58.9% of the company that markets Skyy Vodka.

The $207.5 million deal is expected to close in January.

Campari acquired a minority stake in Skyy in 1998.

The deal is not expected to affect advertising, which is handled by Lambesis, Carlsbad, Calif. A Skyy spokeswoman said marketing spending would increase because sales had increased.
