Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J., is testing a new line of soup designed to be consumed as a full meal. Supper Soups will enter undisclosed markets in California and Massachusetts. Y&R Advertising, New York, which has been gaining Campbell business lately with the addition of Prego, V-8, Franco-American and Pepperidge Farm, has been assigned the ready-to-serve product. It will be packaged in glass jars in four varieties including Vegetable Lasagna and Pot Roast With Vegetables. Separately, Campbell said it met its volume target of a 4% increase in the U.S. in an earnings report issued today for the first quarter, ended Nov. 1.
