Canada's second biggest paper appoints top exec

TORONTO - Pierre Karl Peladeau will take over as president/CEO of Quebecor Inc., founded by his late father Pierre Peladeau. The 37-year-old Peladeau was formerly vice-chair and executive VP of the company's printing division, Quebecor Printing Inc. Current Quebecor President Jean Neveu will become chair of the parent company, repla-cing Charles Albert Poissant who is retiring. Mr. Peladeau was instrumental in the company's recent $1 billion take-over of Sun Media Corp. in December, making Quebecor the second largest newspa-per company in Canada after Southam Inc.
