Canadian airlines names European head

LONDON--Gary Cross, previously Canadian Airlines general manager for the U.K. and Ireland, has been promoted to managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Cross joined the company in 1996 from Cathay Pacific, where he had been corporate sales manager. Canadian Airlines operates up to five flights a day from London Heathrow Terminal 4 and together with alliance partner British Airways operates up to 59 flights a week to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver.
