Canadian daily taps Cossette Communication-Marketing

Published on .

MONTREAL--La Presse, one of three French-language dailies in Montreal, has moved its advertising business to Cossette Communication-Marketing from Publicis-BCP, the incumbent since 1994.

The move follows a change in publishers last April, when Guy Crevier, formerly president of Motion International, took over from Roger Landry, publisher for the last two decades.

The 116-year-old paper has a weekday circulation of 168,203 and a Saturday and Sunday readership of 265,973 and 178,730, respectively.

Georges Morin, Cossette's senior VP-corporate development, says the key to the La Presse win was the strength of the agency's Interactive division.
