Canadian Internet ad biz shows healthy growth

Internet advertising in Canada is predicted to reach $16 million (U.S.) this year and $40 million in 1999. Canada's first-ever Internet ad study from recently formed Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada shows online ad spending exploded more than sixfold last year, jumping to nearly $7 million in 1997 from just $1.1 million a year earlier.
