PARIS-- Carat France has pooled its Internet resources into a newdivision, Carat Interactive, that will coordinate all online activities for the media agency's clients.

Marie-Laure Sauty de Chalon, currently managing director of Carat Prospective, will run the new division, which will handle online space buying, advise clients on the use of the Internet and offer marketing consulting for dot-com start-ups.

The first two tasks will be handled within the framework of Carat Interactive, while marketing work for start-ups will be coordinated through a new sub-division baptized @Carat, to be directed by Philippe Seignol, formerly commercial director of Carat Prospective.

At the same time, Carat France announced plans to bring six top executives into an upper management team charged with studying how the Internet and the advent of new technologies will change the group's activities and objectives over the coming years.

Carat France, a division of Group Carat, is among France's leading media buyers, handling more than $3.5 billion in paid advertising in 1999.
