Fallon withdraws from Gateway review
Talks between Publicis Groupe's Fallon, Minneapolis, and Gateway have failed and the agency pulled out of the PC marketer's $250 advertising review. While Fallon executives declined to comment, a spokeswoman confirmed the agency failed to come to terms with Gateway and wished them well. Brad Williams, a spokesman for Gateway, declined to confirm the report and said the company won't comment on marketing communications plans, including the future of its advertising, until Feb. 28 when the direct PC marketer's new management team discusses a revamped business strategy. The meeting will take place in San Diego, where Gateway's corporate headquarters are based, and will be attended by the media and financial analysts. The status of the other review finalists that included Havas Advertisings' Arnold Worldwide, Boston; Stiltanen/Keehn, El Segundo, Calif.; and DiMassimo Brand Advertising, New York is unclear.
