COPENHAGEN--Danish anti-trust authorities have cleared the way for Carlsberg to acquire the German Gatz beer brand from brewer Gatzweiler, based in Duesseldorf. The takeover was routed through Carlsberg's German subsidiary, Hannen Braurei. In Lithuania, Carlsberg bought a 95% interest in AB Svyturys in a cash deal worth $53 million. Lithuania's biggest brewery, AB Svyturys holds a 26% share of the local beer market.
