Cartoon Network to launch largest Asian kids survey; taps ACNielsen

MANILA--Cartoon Network is to launch a major children's lifestyle survey in Asia to be called New GenerAsians, according to Celia Chong, senior VP-general manager of Turner Entertainment Networks Asia. Turnerhas commissioned ACNielsen to survey 7,500 children aged 7 to 18 in 29 cities across 14 countries.

"We have long acknowledged that Cartoon Network's future is inextricably linked with the growth of the kids' market as a whole. We believe there is a genuine need for ongoing research of this nature about kids," says Ms. Chong. This second New GenerAsians survey will have a stronger focus on "kids' brand recall" as well as "kids and the Internet".

Results of the survey will be available on the Internet with "microscope" software to facilitate market comparisons.
