CBS appoints president

Leslie Moonves has been promoted to president of CBS Television. Mr. Moonves, who was formerly president-CBS Entertainment, now adds network sales, marketing and research to his responsibilities. Furthermore, Mr. Moonves will oversee all of CBS' domestic syndication and international sales units. The office of CBS Television Network president, held by James Warner, has been eliminated, and Mr. Warner will leave the company. Mr. Moonves will report directly to Michael Jordan, chairman-CEO of CBS parent Westinghouse Electric Corp.
