CBS gets TeleNoticias

Westinghouse/CBS will acquire the 24-hour Spanish-language news channel TeleNoticias from Telemundo Group, Hialeah, Fla. Terms were not disclosed. In the two-part deal, Telemundo first acquired TeleNoticias from former partners Rueters Latam News, Artear Argentina Corp. and Antena 3 International. Then Telemundo sold the channel to CBS. CBS TeleNoticias now will produce Telemundo's nightly national and international newscasts and news specials. The network will be run by Don Mitzner, president of Group W. Satellite Communications, and Andy Heyward, president of CBS News.
