CBS and Turner link for '98 Games

Published on .

CBS has brought aboard Turner Network Television yet again to be its cable partner for its 1998 Winter Olympics broadcasts. CBS and TNT also worked together on the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics. CBS says it will broadcast 120 hours of Olympic coverage; TNT will broadcast 50 hours of Olympic coverage. Neither network's coverage will overlap on the other. Neither CBS nor TNT would comment on the financial arrangement, but in '92 and '94, TNT paid CBS $25 million for the cable rights. CBS will handle ad sales; neither CBS nor TNT would comment on whether they will share in ad revenue.
