CD matches PC

Published on .

Interactive Multimedia Association on Tuesday unveils CD Match, a scheme to make it easier for PC users to match CD-ROM titles with their systems, with the goal of reducing the high return rates on CD-ROMs. The trade group will offer free software over the Internet that PC users can run to get a printout on their machines' capabilities. Over time, software makers will add a uniform labeling system on packages so consumers will know if their PCs will run a particular title.
