Celebrities star in AOL's first Brazilian ads

Published on .

SAO PAULO--Nine Brazilian celebrities praise the Internet in America Online's first campaign in the country. Actress Vera Fischer celebrates the Web for not featuring violence or drugs, car racer Rubinho Barrichelo extols the speed of the Web and platinum blonde Carla Perez claims that if she can connect to the Web, anyone can.

Each of the ads inject some humor by including five seconds of mistakes made during filming. The ads were created by Lowe Loducca, Sao Paulo.

The launch campaign includes TV, cinema, radio, double-page print ads and outdoor boards in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

AOL is also offering Brazilian consumers 250 hours of free access to the Web via a CD inserted in major newspapers.
